Athlete-agent rules by state

Most states regulate who may act as an athlete agent. Many adopted the Uniform Athlete Agents Act or its 2015 revision, but the details differ: which agency registers agents, what it costs, how long a registration lasts, whether a bond is required, what warning language the agency contract must carry, and whether the athlete's school must be notified after signing.

This area carries higher stakes than NIL — violations can bring civil penalties and, in some states, criminal charges. Each entry links the statute it came from and shows when a human last read it. Read the statute itself before acting, and treat the penalty column as a pointer, not a legal opinion.
