How AthleteContact works

AthleteContact is a free recruiting platform built around one idea: the family controls everything. Profiles start private. Coaches are verified humans, not open registrations. Publication requires signed consent, a confirmed parent, and a human review. NIL is opt-in, routed through the family. And every rule we publish — NIL by state, athlete-agent law, eligibility — is cited to the actual bylaw or statute, with the verified date on the page.

For athletes & families — five steps

1

Create a free profile

Athletes 13 and up (we check by graduation year — we never collect a birthdate). Highlights link out to YouTube or Hudl; academics stay off the platform entirely and go to coaches through official school channels.

2

It starts private — you choose who sees it

Three settings: private, visible to verified coaches only, or public. Public is for athletes 18+ and takes three gates: signed consent, a confirmed parent email, and a human review. Going private again is instant, always.

3

Share it anywhere with a free-pass link

A private, revocable link you can text to any coach — no login needed on their end, and you can kill it any time.

4

Verified coaches find you

Coaches browse by sport, class year, and level. You see who's been looking as counts by level; a coach shows up by name only when they choose to. Everything a coach sends lands in your family inbox.

5

NIL — when and if you're ready

Turn on the NIL board and registered brands can make offers into your inbox. Check your state's actual rules first — we keep them current, cited to the bylaw, at NIL rules by state.

The rules we run on

  • 13+ only. Enforced at signup, from graduation year — no birthdates, ever.
  • Minors are never publicly indexed. A minor's profile can be coach-visible or shared by link, never a public web page.
  • Publication is earned, not clicked. Consent + verified parent + human review, for adults only.
  • Going private is instant. No review, no waiting, no questions.
  • Retiring keeps you in control. One action makes everything private and revokes every shared link.
  • Coaches and agents are verified by us — coaches against their school, agents against their state's registry. Unverified agents can't see athletes or make contact.
  • Every claim in our rules library carries a primary-source citation and a verified date — and when a rule changes or we correct something, the change history is on the page.

For coaches

Free, verified access to athletes whose families chose to be visible — filtered by sport, class year, and level, with freshness shown on every profile. Build a career profile, claim your program page, and reach families through their inbox. Verification is manual: we check you against your school before you see anything.

For brands

Register, browse athletes whose families opted into NIL, and make offers that route to the family inbox — never directly to a minor. Deals follow the athlete's state rules, and our state pages tell you exactly what those are.

Straight answers about the business

AthleteContact is free for athletes, families, coaches, and clubs — that's permanent. The platform is operated by a recruiting agency, and the money comes from three places: hands-on agency services for families who want them, negotiated commissions on brand deals the platform facilitates, and licensing the platform to other agencies. Your profile is not the product, and we don't sell data — the whole model depends on families trusting the platform enough to be here.

One more thing families should know. Our rules library (NIL by state, athlete-agent law, eligibility) documents publicly available rules and is not legal advice. It exists because we couldn't find a source that cited the actual documents — so we built one, and we show our work on every page.
